CITYENGINE TRAINING HOW TO
Using CityEngine you will learn how to author a web scene from 2D and 3D data for visualising or analysing in other products.
CITYENGINE TRAINING PROFESSIONAL
Depending on the professional and academic backgrounds of the trainees the third day is focused on real-world workflows and data of attendees. It will also give you a more advanced understanding of the inner workings of Esri CityEngine. The 3-day 3DPathFinder is more than just an introduction to CityEngine (version 2017.1 and above), not only is this a hands-on practical course it will teach you some CGA theory and useful tools such as viewsheds.

We have a few confirmed trainees and have spaces for more! Primarily this is a bring your own device training event (with Esri CityEngine installed), but should you require, we can arrange equipment for you (subject to additional fee). The CityEngine course is composed of seven lessons, and you should expect to see and learn a lot from interactive demos, lectures, and practical exercises that will teach you how to use this cutting edge technology to build your own 3D cities. We are holding a 3-day (third day optional) Esri CityEngine training event at Lancaster University (LICA Building) on Monday the 4th, Tuesday the 5th, and Wednesday the 6th of June 2018.

Modelling facades: advanced CGA modelling to create realistically looking facades of landmark buildings.Mass modelling: creating mass models using CGA rules.
CITYENGINE TRAINING MANUAL
Manual modelling: creating relatively simple 3D models using editing tools. The final part of this training course will allow students to deep-dive into modelling routines. Practical exercises are based on the Redlands Redevelopment example provided by Esri Inc. This part of the course will also provide several examples of how to use the 3D model created in CityEngine in city planning applications (visualize proposed re-development), 3D analysis and reporting.

grow street models from the road graph and extrude building models from footprint polygons), and populate streets with additional models (i.e. Students will learn how to import GIS data, build basic 3D models (i.e. Students will learn how to use GIS (vector and raster) data that they already have, how to make this data 3-D enabled and how to utilize Lidar data to generate elevation surfaces, which are then used in CityEngine as “terrain layers”. This section will guide students through the complete cycle of creating a 3D model of the city from scratch. In this section students will learn how to use the interface of the product set through the navigation shortcut keys, and will be introduced to CGA shape grammar. This training course is divided into three sections: The CityEngine 2014 training course will also be of interest to those who are already CityEngine users, and have made their first steps in navigating this advanced 3D modelling software, guided by Esri Inc’s tutorials and exercises. This training course has been designed to provide students who are about to begin constructing realistic models of 3D cities with some foundational knowledge of how CityEngine works, and how to use it to create models, import GIS data and publish their results on ArcGIS Online.
CITYENGINE TRAINING SOFTWARE
In response to the growing demand in providing education and training to interested users around Esri’s cutting edge 3D software tool CityEngine, Esri Australia’s training team has recently developed a new training course- CityEngine 2014.
